Why plant-based?
Evidence shows that a reduced meat intake in favour of increased plant consumption is better for our bodies, wallets and our planet. Reducing animal product consumption is one of the best ways to help the environment. For example, twenty servings of vegetables have fewer greenhouse gas emissions than one serving of beef.
Balanced plant-based diets can also have a positive effect on health by lowering blood pressure, reducing blood cholesterol and promoting a healthy body weight.
But sometimes we don’t know where to start with making complete and balanced meals of vegetables that taste good. A New Leaf takes the difficulty out of cooking, our recipes taste good and are healthy and easy.
We don’t try to convert anyone to veganism, we simply aim to give every young person the tools to manage their own diets, and incorporate more fruits, vegetables and wholegrains, setting healthier patterns that will benefit them for life.
